Leverages teams to transform business operations.   Mr. Somers has 16 years of hands-on operational experience managing some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated mission critical data centres in Europe and Asia Pacific.   Most recently he was responsible Portfolio Management as the number two executive in Europe and Asia Pac for Digital Realty with P&L responsibility for $2.3b portfolio, revenue in excess of $175m, approval over annual capex of +$200m, annual opex $52 million, portfolio consisting of 2.3+ million sf in the U.K., Ireland, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, China, Australia, Japan & Singapore. 15 direct reports, team of 52 professionals in 12 countries performing Asset Management, Property Operations and Client Services. Mr. Somers has had the privilege of working closely with the the most respected names in the cloud computing business including Rackspace, Verizon/Terremark, IBM/Softlayer, CenturyLink Technologies and many of the major enterprise users including social networking companies and major financial institutions.  Prior to his involvement in data centers, Mr. Somers was Vice President of Development at Lincoln Property. His career in the Technology industry began in 2000 when he was tapped to be the CEO of a private development group in Paris funded by Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.  The venture was responsible for the completion of three data centres in continental Europe, two of which are now owned by Digital Realty. In his fifth year in Asia Pacific, Mr. Somers put the foundations in place for the APCx trading platform to allow for an open and transparent marketplace to trade compute cloud services. Mr. Somers obtained his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from DePaul University.  Mr. Somers will soon repatriate to the US to reside in New York City. He is considering opportunities for employment at this time.
